Onesumore: ‘F1: Drive to Survive’ Reportedly Renewed for Season 4 at Netflix
F1: Drive to survive returns for its third season shortly before the start of the 2021 F1 season and, according to a prominent F1 reporter, the Netflix team behind Drive to Survive are back again, indicating that the show will be returning for the next season. season 4.
For those who don’t know, the docu series F1: Drive to survive looks back on the previous year’s F1 season, often a few weeks before the start of the new season, offering fans a way to level up or relive events to prepare for the new season.
Through exclusive interviews, the series covers the F1 season in a unique way by watching the biggest F1 news and stories for this year.
The first season arrived in March 2019, season 2 arrived in February 2020 and the third season, which covers the 2020 F1 season, is due out on March 19, 2021.
So for Season 4, nothing official has been announced yet, but the camera crews associated with the series have been spotted, meaning it almost certainly looks like it’s moving forward.
News comes via Julianne Cerasoli on Twitter who is a Brazilian sports journalist who reports that the Netflix film crew is currently following Red Bull’s new signing, Perez, saying:
“A little behind the scenes: Perez gives an interview via Zoom and, voila, two professionals working on the set of Netflix are behind him … it looks like they are already starting the fourth season even before the third premieres!”
Again, there will be a lot to cover for the F1 documentary series given the grid transformed with new teams and lots of staff exchanges to cover and that’s before the season even starts.
The official 2021 F1 season is scheduled to start on March 28, with the first race taking place in Bahrain, as opposed to the usual start of the season which traditionally takes place in Australia.
British company Box to Box Productions will also be busy with other projects for other streamers this year, with the filming of a docu-series for Apple TV + based on the World Surf League.
