One of the hidden gems of the Netflix Original library is undoubtedly the series titled by two Paul Rudds, Live with yourself. Later this year, it will be two years since the series hit Netflix but will it ever return for season 2? Let’s go dig.

The series saw Paul Rudd play the role of Miles who seeks to get his life back on track by pursuing an experimental treatment program that allows him to have a clone in his life.

Live with yourself won a Golden Globe nomination and has been well received by critics and fans.

As we mentioned in our original Season 2 preview, there was a lot of scope for other seasons. Show creator Timothy Greenberg himself told Variety there were other plans for the show, saying:

“Greenberg’s longer-term plan for the series, if Netflix renews it, is not only to see more of these three essential characters, but also to expand the world around them.

Is Living With Yourself returning for season 2?

Officially, the series has never been approved or denied over the coming seasons. As with many Netflix shows after the update

The show’s status was recently covered by Matt Mitovich and Ryan Schwartz for TVLine which has chosen a number of shows that have aired on MIA in recent years. They give us the update by saying: “Sources confirm that the seriess?) Paul Rudd has only signed a one-season contract, and as such, a season 2 is not planned.

What we suspect is that the case is Live with yourself took a permanent break with the possibility of returning in the future. The same has happened with a few top Netflix shows, including Master of None (who would return soon after a few years of hiatus) and David Fincher Mindhunter although in this example it seems unlikely.

Paul Rudd has become an international superstar who will undoubtedly have an influence on any comeback. His filming schedule already looks very busy with continued work in the Marvel Universe as a The ant Man as well as upcoming projects including Apple TV + The Shrink Next Door and Ghostbusters: the afterlife.

Likewise, Aisling Bea who played Kate Elliot is also busy, including Alone at home for Disney + and in a film titled Sweet Dreams. Because the stars are not attached to the show via options, that means the only way to get back would be through a schedule alignment which is traditionally very difficult.

So in conclusion, the future of the series is likely in the hands of Paul Rudd, who is keen to do more and sign for a second season. Until then, the show is on a permanent hiatus, and as such, you shouldn’t be hoping for a second season.
