Onesumore: What’s Coming to Netflix UK in April 2021

There’s already a lot to look forward to on Netflix as we get our first look at what’s coming to the UK Library in April 2021.

Coming to Netflix UK on April 1st

  • Alleycats (2016) – Action thriller with Poldark actress Eleanor Tomlinson
  • American Girl: Grace Brings Success (2015) – Family musical
  • Below (2013) – Horror which pits a group of high school students trapped against a giant man-eating fish.
  • Rejected (2000) – Drama starring Tom Hanks as Chuck Noland, a FedEx executive who was stranded on a desert island after surviving a plane crash.
  • Guarantee (2004) – Police thriller about a taxi driver taken hostage as his murderous client performs his contracts in Los Angeles, overnight.
  • Curve (2015) – Hitchhiker Horror with Julianne Hough.
  • Death Becomes Him (1992) – Horror comedy by Back to the future director Robert Zemeckis.
  • In the name of the father (1993) – Daniel Day-Lewis and Emma Thompson star in this biopic of the man wrongly convicted of an IRA bombing.
  • Jarhead 2: Field of Fire (2014) – War drama.
  • Love story (1990) – Classic romantic drama with Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal.
  • Masterpiece: Worricker: Salting the Battlefield (2014) – British crime drama with Bill Nighy and Helena Bonham Carter
  • Masterpiece: Worricker: Turks and Caicos (2014) – Bill Nighy returns as Worricker, a British spy forced out of retirement when his past catches up with him.
  • Murder on the Home Front (2013) – Drama of World War II.
  • Outcast (2014) – Nicholas Cage action-adventure where he plays a warrior in search of revenge.
  • Out of time (2003) – A police chief is left in hot water when money from a drug raid is stolen, and his mistress is found dead. It’s a race against time to prove his innocence before the FBI can catch him.

  • Page Eight (2011) – British crime drama.
  • Prank Encounters (Season 2) NOT – Gaten Matarazzo returns for a second helping to scare unsuspecting victims into ‘terrifying’ pranks.
  • Gross Affair (1986) – John Irvin is directing this Arnold Schwarzenegger crime thriller.
  • RL Stine’s Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls (2015) – Children’s fantasy horror Goose bumps creator RL Stine.
  • Gross Affair (1986) – Classic action thriller with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
  • Shrek (2001) – To free his refugee fairy tale creatures, the ogre Shrek is sent on a quest with a talking donkey to free the beautiful Princess Fiona from a castle guarded by a dragon.

  • Shrek 2 (2004) – To celebrate their wedding, Shrek and Fiona are invited to the kingdom of Far Far Far Away, where Fiona’s parents reign. But when they arrive, the newlyweds are not as welcome as they had hoped.
  • Shrek the Musical (2013) – DreamWork’s beloved animated comedy came to life on stage, with an incredible run on Broadway and the West End.
  • Sleepers (1996) – Police thriller with an all-star male cast of Bacon, Hoffman, De Niro and Pitt.
  • They Live (1988) – A cult classic starring Roddy Piper as Nada, the lone wanderer with a special pair of sunglasses that allows him to see the world as it really is, dominated by aliens who control the mind.
  • The Borrowers (2011) – TV movie adaptation with Christopher Eccleston of the classic English fantasy novel.
  • The Hitcher (2007) – A serial killer associates his murderous crimes with two unsuspecting students.
  • The Land Before Time 2: The Great Valley Adventure (1994) – Animated prehistoric adventure.
  • The Time Traveler’s Wife (2009) – A husband’s marriage is put to the test when his involuntary time travel power becomes too heavy for his wife.
  • Turks and Caicos Islands (2014) – Winona Ryder and Bill Nighy feature in this police crime drama.
  • Twister (1996) – Successful disaster thriller with Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt.
  • Bill Savage (2011) – British crime drama.
  • Worn Stories (Season 1) NOT – A docu-series dedicated to clothing. Created by Orange is the new black creator Jenji Kohan and Morgan Neville.

Coming to Netflix UK on April 2nd

  • Concrete Cowboy (2021) NOT – Teenage Cole moves north from Detroit to Philadelphia to live with his former equestrian father.
  • Just say yes (2021) NOT – Dutch comedy starring Yolanthe Cabau as Lotte, a woman whose life is turned upside down after years of planning her wedding only to have the groom cancel at the last minute.
  • Madame Claude (2021) NOT – Biographical drama about the famous French brothel owner Madame Claude.
  • Sky high (2021) NOT – Spanish action thriller

Coming to Netflix UK on April 5th

  • Coded Bias (2020) – In-depth documentary based on research by Joy Buolamwini, researcher at MIT Media Lab, which led to the discovery that current facial recognition technology does not accurately detect faces with darker skin.
  • Family reunion (part 3) NOT – When the McKellan family move from Seattle to Georgia, they struggle to adjust to life in the South.

  • Fast Cash (Season 1) NOT – Swedish crime drama.
  • The big day (Collection 2) NOT – Next set of episodes of the Indian reality TV series.
  • This Is A Theft: The World’s Greatest Art Heist (Limited Series) NOT – Docuseries on a heist that occurred in the 1990s.

  • The House Husband’s Path (Season 1) NOT – Japanese animated series that sees the legendary Yakuza ‘Immortal Tatsu’ retire from gang life and settle down as a housewife.

Coming to Netflix UK on April 9

  • Have you ever seen fireflies? (2021) NOT
  • Night in paradise (2021) NOT – Former South Korean mobster Tae-Soo runs away for his life after the death of his sister and nephew. Arriving on Jeju Island, Tae-Soo meets Jae-Yoon, a terminally ill woman who has given up on life.
  • Thunder Force (2021) NOT – Superhero comedy with Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer.

  • Daddy stop embarrassing me (Season 1) NOT – Sitcom with Jamie Foxx as a single dad and owner of a successful cosmetics brand takes a crash course in fatherhood when his teenage daughter films with him.

  • Zero (Season 1) NOT – Italian drama superhero series.

Coming to Netflix UK on April 23

  • Shadow and Bone (1 season) NOT – Based on Leigh Bardugo’s bestselling Grishaverse novels, the fantasy drama takes place in a war-torn world, where the threat of the Shadow Fold threatens to destroy everything. When Alina Starkov’s magical powers are revealed to the world, she is sent to train and hone her magical abilities as Grisha, an elite army of magical soldiers.
