Onesumore: When will ‘The Serpent’ Season 1 be on Netflix?
One of the first highlights coming to Netflix in 2021 is the UK co-production Netflix called The snake. Here’s what we know so far, including the most important when it likely hits Netflix.
Ad back in july 2019, Netflix and the BBC would team up (as they’ve done several times in the past) in a big-budget limited series that offers a dramatization of Charles Sohraj’s arrest in 1976.
Charles Sohraj was an infamous 1970s serial killer and fraudster who preyed on tourists in Southeast Asia. Series director Tom Shankland said, “Bringing the lost era of the hippie trail back to life has been a dream of mine, ever since I first traveled to Asia and heard the name of ‘Charles Sobhraj’. “
Now, almost a year and a half after the project was announced, we have a few key new details, including a trailer, screenshots, and most importantly, when we can see it.
Jenna Coleman is one of the stars of the series. Known for Doctor Who as a companion in recent years, Jenna will play Marie-Andrée Leclerc who was Sobhraj’s companion in crime and accomplice.
The main role itself is played by Tahar Rahim (Netflix’s The whirlwind, a prophet, The past) with Ellie Bamber, Billy Howle, Tim McInnerny and William Brand are also set to star.
The snake is written by Richard Warlow and Toby Finlay who worked on the popular British series Ripper Street.
A total of eight one-hour episodes will air, the BBC is currently scheduled to start broadcasting the series from January 1, 2021.
When will The Serpent be released on Netflix?
We expect that all over the world The snake but when has not yet been officially announced.
We can, however, make an educated guess at its release schedule thanks to another BBC co-production that was released around the same time previously. Giri / Haji (unfortunately canceled after only one season).
The series was not included in the January 2021 release schedule, so we expect it to hit Netflix once it’s over. Giri / Haji ended airing in December 2019 before being added to Netflix in January 2020. We expected The snake to hit Netflix outside the UK in February 2021 or March 2021, but it wasn’t until early March that Netflix announced that the United States will receive Season 1 on April 2, 2021.

Netflix UK will likely get the series eventually, but unlikely until a year after it ends. This will likely be in early 2022. By then the series will be available on BBC iPlayer in the UK, which is free assuming you have a TV license.
All episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer from New Years Day.
